By Katharine Houreld NAIROBI (Reuters) – Ethiopia stated on Wednesday peacekeepers from its Tigray area serving in Somalia had been disarmed over a safety concern, elevating considerations over the forces’ potential to battle al Qaeda-linked militants. Diplomatic and safety sources stated earlier that between 200 and 300 Tigrayans had had their weapons eliminated. Ethiopian troops started preventing forces from the northern area of Tigray earlier this month after what the federal government described as a shock assault by the Tigray Folks’s Liberation Entrance (TPLF) on colleagues stationed there.
