Eritrea Forces Deployed in Disputed Sudan-Ethiopia Area, UN Says


Bloomberg Information (Bloomberg) — Eritrean forces are current inside disputed territory that straddles the border between Ethiopia and Sudan, in keeping with the United Nations. The deployment within the so-called al-Fashqa triangle comes amid escalating tensions between Ethiopia and Sudan over management of the world of fertile farming land. “The battle alongside the border between Sudan and Ethiopia stays lively, with Sudanese Armed Forces and Ethiopian — together with Amhara militias — and Eritrean forces deployed round Barkhat settlement in Better Fashaga and clashes reported since early March,” the UN mentioned Tuesday in its newest scenario report on Ethiopia.
